Timo Stammberger (b. 1980 in Hamburg) grew up in Hamburg and Frankfurt/Main.
After moving to Berlin, he studied at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie,
graduating in 2009.
"Underground Landscapes" depicts subway tunnels of cities such as Berlin,
New York, Philadelphia, Lisbon, Stockholm, Dortmund, Prague, Budapest and Vienna.
He believes in our ability to relate to one another in positive and inspiring ways,
creating a balance to counteract existing negativity within our often destructive
human existence.
Stammberger relishes his life in Berlin.
STATEMENT
My work revolves around the idea of ‘exploration’ in every sense of the word.
Personal challenges lead me to reflection, transformation and progression along
the journey of self discovery through the various accompanying emotional states
which I find fascinating. I remain as a work in progress. Fear, uncertainty,
commitment, passion, belonging, individuality - the various challenges that are
reflected within me, my work and my generation.
